No passado dia 14 de maio todas as turmas do 4.º ao 9.º ano foram convidadas a assistir a espetáculos de teatro em inglês com a TALLMAN Theatre Co., o que é dizer: com Stuart McDonald. Ora se optou por espetáculos diferentes ou pelo ajustar dos mesmos ao nível de proficiência do público. Assim, ao longo do dia os alunos foram agrupados em quatro sessões com a apresentação de três dos seus espetáculos: The Horror Show, The Book Show e Books! Books! Books!
Com esta iniciativa, a área curricular de Inglês, do Departamento de Línguas, pretendeu fomentar o interesse pela aprendizagem da língua inglesa, contribuir para a aquisição, consolidação e ampliação de competências de comunicação em inglês, reforçar a componente lúdica no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, e sensibilizar os alunos para as artes, nomeadamente o Teatro.
Ainda no próprio dia endereçou-se aos alunos participantes um questionário breve de avaliação da atividade com as seguintes perguntas: Did you like the show? (Gostaste do espetáculo?); What did you learn? (O que aprendeste?); Would you like to attend other similar shows in English? (Gostarias de assistir a outros espetáculos semelhantes em inglês?). As respostas foram francamente positivas, denotando bem a satisfação de todos os que assistiram.
Nesse inquérito, era ainda sugerido aos alunos que deixassem uma mensagem ao Stuart McDonald. Apresentamos aqui uma amostra das mesmas:

“Thanks (for) your show. You are very fun. I'm so happy. I like your show (so much).”
“You have a lot of talent.”

“I like, it’s very cool. I need more theatre with you. I like (it) very much!”
“Stuart McDonald, congratulations on your presentation. It was amazing.”
“The theatre was very good. You are a very fun person and (you) convey happiness, come back whenever you want.”
“It was a lot of fun and dynamic, I loved participating, I hope you come more often.”
“I think he is a great person, with incredible skills of acting. He is very funny and very good with children.”
“I really enjoyed the show and you have an incredible talent, good luck for the rest of your career ”
“Thank you so much for the moment you provided us. It was a pleasant time and I enjoyed it very much. You were definitely born for this. Therefore, please, keep making people laugh and never give up on this gift you have.”
“Hi Stuart, I really like your show. You are very talented and the way you interacted was very good! Thank you for coming and cheering us up.”
“Your show was amazing and very funny and continue to do that because you are good.”
“Hello! I liked very much. It was very funny. I would like to see other shows. Hope you enjoy Portugal. Thank you”

Por fim, um bem-haja aos funcionários que colaboraram na preparação do espaço, aos professores que acompanharam as suas turmas, à Direção do agrupamento de escolas por todo o apoio, e, finalmente, à Paróquia por disponibilizar o espaço do salão paroquial para a realização dos espetáculos ao longo do dia.
